Tonight, I think God allowed me to be in His shoes even just for a bit. To experience what it feels like to care and to have your own daughter or princess. Sure. I can never really grasp the weight of His love for us and for her daughters, but tonight was something. I don’t know why, maybe the Holy Spirit? but some of you ladies might need to read this.

I asked for her name twice and her dad told me, ‘Her name’s Constance’ and we’re from Argentina. So that explains why she didn’t understand me the whole time, she can’t speak English. Judging by her look, she looks like she’s about 4 or 5 years old. She had those beautiful brownish - hazelnut eyes and every time she smiles, her eyes smiles too.

Her dad asked me If I can teach her how to Ice skate and hold her hand and skate with her since it was her first time stepping on the ice, without hesitation I said yes. I love kids! that’s why I’m majoring in Early Childhood Education. Although I’m passionate about being a Worship Pastor, I still like teaching kids.

I have to say, It was quiet challenging communicating with her since she doesn’t really understand me & my English. Whenever I say something, she just looks at me, smiles and nods her head. It was adorable. What I found helpful and effective is using non-verbal gestures, such as hand motions and actually demonstrating every move that I want her to learn from me.

As we skated around, at some point we would stop because her dad would take pictures of her and me or I would show her how to re-balance her self, skate properly, where she needs to put her hands, bends her knees etc. She was really enjoying every single move I taught her. I enjoyed teaching her, and just being there for her.

So this is what struck me. After maybe, 10mins of skating. I brought her back to her parents. I went and skated ahead and did my job as a Skate Guard. When she saw me again coming around, she held her hand out to me and reaching for mine and she had that look like she’s saying she wants to skate around again, and she said these words.

“I skate, please? “

Her English isn’t that great and to think that’s she’s only 5, But I know exactly what she meant when she said that. The look on her face and her eyes, say’s it all & I’ll never forget. I felt like I was her dad for 5secs. I just wanna give her everything, give her the world.

If I had my own daughter, (Lord willing in the future) without a doubt, I know I would be madly, crazy inlove with her. Why? She’s mine. She came from me. She’s my princess, a fragile piece from me. I would give her everything that would make her happy as long as it’s gonna help her as a person, as a child & daughter of God and as long as it glorifies Him.

This post isn’t really about you looking at me like, ‘oh he’s such a sweetheart blah..’ This post is FOR YOU. God specifically allowed me to experience this, so I could tell you how much GOD LOVES YOU, CARES FOR YOU & HE IS CRAZY ABOUT YOU. You are His princess, His daughter, His creation. If you hold and reach for His hand, I guarantee you, He will HOLD YOU and take you back in no matter what you’re past experiences were like.

Just like that girl when she said those words. ‘I skate please’ although what she meant really was, ‘Can you hold my hand again coz I wanna Skate?’ You don’t even need to find the right words to come back to our Father, He knows what you need and what you have in your heart before you even say it, He knows your every heart ache and deepest needs. just have the willingness to comeback to Him.

Ladies, It’s time for y’all to fall in love with our Father and know the weight of His great love for you. Would you reach out your hand to Him? He’s crazy about you.
