I was sitting at Starbucks with my laptop opened just checking some emails when I saw a man from a distance who appeared to be wearing a raggedy clothes and asking money from another man outside the coffee shop. My first initial reaction was “Should I go to him and offer to buy him some food?” this was a no brainer. Of course I should do that! Once again, my flesh was saying no but His Spirit was saying, “Are you really going to miss this opportunity? I’m definitely learning to listen and obey.
I closed my laptop, pack my stuff and rushed outta the door. I tried to look and see where he was but couldn’t find him. Finally after walking a couple blocks down the streets, I saw him sitting by himself in the corner. “Hi? My name’s Mark. What’s your name?” I think I mumbled when I said those words. I guess I was nervous because of his appearance. “Stan, do you have 50cents? ” That’s all he said. And I told him I don’t have any cash or any money but I can go buy him some food. “No, I just want 50cents. I need to go to the doctor for my shoulder.” He then shows me all his E.R tags. They were so many! I offered if I can pray for his shoulder to be healed and told him that God can heal him, but he rejected me 3 times.
Finally as I was about to turn my back and leave he goes “wait, do you wanna know what happened to my shoulder?” I said “absolutely. I wanna know!” he then tells me what happened and what he’s doing about it. As he was telling me the story I prayed silently for God to soften his heart and allow me to pray for him. The amazing thing happened. He said he goes to church (my church) and I told him I go to that church too and I’m on staff. He smiled and right there and then, I knew the right moment came and I offered to pray for his shoulder one last time and this time he said yes. I reached out for his hand and prayed for him and for his shoulder to be healed.
I think God healed his heart more than anything. It’s amazing how God can change someones heart in an instant. His ways are definitely mysterious and in a lot of ways, unpredictable.
Lord, thank you for Stan. Thank you for keeping him alive. I pray that you bring complete healing to his heart and his shoulder. And I pray that this Sunday you would give me the opportunity to see Stan again at church and just get to know him more. Be with him now God. In Jesus name, AMEN!

A lot of people have asked me how is it that I’m in such good shape? They ask me how many times I work out in a week. Or sometimes I get questions like,‘Why exactly do you work out and what do you do when you work out?’
This post is to give you a good balance of what it’s like to work out in a healthy way and not allowing yourself to get caught up in the vanity of always wanting to look good. I’ll give you my stand point of working out based on my own experience and observations. So let’s get started shall we? :)So what’s my stand point about working out and staying fit? Well working out regularly definitely has some great benefits to our physical bodies. If you’re an athlete or someone who is physically active, you can agree with me on this one that when you work out you feel more energized, healthy and obviously fit. There are a lot of reason why people work out:
Some people work out because they need to be in shape for sports.
Some people workout because their health is declining and their doctor’s recommend them to stay active.
Others work out on a regular basis because it’s part of their daily healthy routine.
lastly some people workout because it’s their addiction.
I’m not gonna talk about all the different reasons, but what I’m gonna tackle today is that as a Christian, how is working out beneficial to us not just physically but spiritually? The Bible says:

for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come - 1timothy 4:8

We can’t deny the fact that working out is indeed a valuable discipline to our daily lives. It’s not a matter of being vain or conceited. Just because someone is working out and staying fit doesn’t mean that person is conceited. But for us as Christians the main purpose and reason why we should work out and stay healthy is not necessarily just for the purpose of improving the quality of our bodies so that other people will notice and admire us, but instead we work out and stay healthy to improve our physical health so that we will possess more physical energy to devote to physical duties and spiritual goals. Such as prayer, fasting, worship, evangelism, work, school etc.
Brothers and Sisters, change your mind and attitude towards working out.
We need to Work out so that we can Live out the Gospel of Christ. If you’re outta shape and you try to run 5 miles, I bet you, you won’t last. It’s the same thing for us, don’t expect yourself to have all the energy that you need in order to accomplish work, school, or even ministry work if you don’t sleep well, eat right and get enough dose of exercise. We are ought to be responsible as to how we take care of our bodies. Just as much as we feed food to our soul by reading God’s word, we need to feed our bodies and take care of it in order to sustain ourselves through out the day.
And lastly It’s important that we remember to take care of our bodies because it’s a gift from God. So many people in different parts of the world don’t have the access to the things that we have and yet we take it for granted. Let’s challenge ourselves and enjoy God’s creation. Take a quick walk or go for a run. If you have arms and legs use them and don’t waste.
At the end of the day, we are to honor God with our bodies and we can’t just let our bodies deteriorate and neglect it. Always strive for healthiness not just physically but spiritually as well.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I woke up around 10.30 earlier this morning, and as I looked at the clock, I knew I was going to be late for class. I checked my emails/facebook/tumblr for a bit. Answered a few questions and what not. I didn’t have enough time to eat, I took a couple bites of my hotdog over my wheat bread and just rushed outta the door. I hopped in my car, I put my ipod on and I chose "God is Able by Hillsong" to be on repeat. This song is really close to me. I had the privileged to introduce this song to our congregation and led it a few times.

As I was driving, I ponder and I savor the moments I had with God last night, I wanna carry that feeling with me, and just be sensitive of His presence. I hope it lasts because, honestly, I get too caught up in life and I put God aside. So, I took the time to really just sit in His presence again while I’m sitting in my car and driving. I listened to the song and sang it in my head and just digested the lyrics of the song in my heart. I wasn’t sure if I was really paying attention in my driving, I guess it was just body memory, I was absent minded in terms of driving, But i know where I was going.

I started singing the song, out loud. But when it came to the bridge part.

God is with us, and He will go before, He will never leave us, He will never leave us. God is for us, and He has open arms, He will never fail us, He will never fail us.

Maaan, I just broke down. I was crying.. again!

Okay, first of all.. I’m not a crier LOL! but, I can’t helped it. Idk why? I didn’t even get to sing the whole entire bridge because I was there weeping again. It was traffic too, and I’m pretty sure the people in their cars right next to me saw me sobbing. But I don’t care.

I feel like, I’m starting to come out from this dry season that I’ve been experiencing lately. And I found myself, amazed again on how gracious and loving and faithful God is. I feel like, God is doing something crazy in my life. I feel like, something inevitable is about to happen soon because, I don’t really cry and respond to God like this, I usually just talk to Him, and sing. But to actually cry because it’s this deep adoration that just overflows from your heart, like literally OVERFLOWS and comes outta my eyes! it’s really mind blowing. The Holy Spirit was just so thick.

I know this may sound weird, but I’m looking forward to crying again and have those moments with Him where I’m found at His feet.

The thought of you excites me.

I can’t wait to serve & pursue Christ along side with you.

I can’t wait to touch your face when you laugh, cry, make jokes, being silly.

I can’t wait to pray, fast, drink coffee, eat carelessly, watch movie, sleep in till we are both late for work, cooking together, make you breakfast in bed, you making me breakfast in bed, drive our first car, live in our first home, raise our own family, seeking God together as a family,

I can’t wait to experience trials & suffering with you, grow close together with God.

I can’t wait to hold you close to me at night. Till we fall asleep.

I can’t wait to give you my ALL, everything of me to you.
