Ever had those experiences where you find something that you thought was “good” and then all of a sudden God gives you something that’s so much better than what you thought you had found.

As a college student and someone who’s involve heavily in Worship Ministry and trying to juggle time with friends, family etc. It’s hard for me to keep a long-term stable job just coz of my schedule. If I do get a job, it’s usually just part-time, temporary, or seasonal. My last job was just a week ago, working at an outdoor ice rink. But since the holidays is over, the job is over as well.

I’ve applied at several places already and still haven’t heard back from any. These past few days has just been really so stressful for me and just worried about my financial situation. why? coz..

  • I have to pay for my books in 1week (worth $100-200)
  • I have to pay for my car registration in 2weeks ($300)
  • I have to get my car fix and smog ASAP. ($50)

honestly, I don’t have enough money to pay for all this. Literally, I’m broke. NO JOKE. And I’m going crazy. At one point I even told God,

God, you have to come through.. NOW. I have no idea how I can come up with $500 in 2 weeks, but you have a plan. I know you have. So please, help me out here. I really need you, NOW.

Last Wednesday I got a call from Planet Fitness. I applied for the Front Desk position. I went in for the interview, they liked me and asked me to comeback next week for the 2nd interview. I came home that day so happy and thought:

Wow, this must’ve been what I’ve been praying for. A job at a gym center. Although they pay a little bit above minimum wage, it’s fine. a jobs a job.

Welp, it doesn’t end there, the next day, Thursday morning I got a call from 24Hour fitness (Famous fitness gym in America) and they told me to come in for an interview. I was so excited, they actually saw my application. So then, I went for an interview.

Long story short, The guy who interviewed me is a Christian, and he sometimes goes to my church, and he helps out at salvation army which our church is actually partnering with! Right then and there, he offered the position to me and I got the job. I’m filling out paper works this Sunday. I knew this is God’s best. Because of what just happened.

Just when we thought we found something we thought was good, God gives us something so much better. Better than what we expect.

God’s ultimate provision, outweighs our Human expectations.

As I was driving home, I wept for my Fathers goodness and grace. I asked for His forgiveness for not trusting Him fully and for doubting Him sometimes. What was I thinking? I am His child. Of course He delights in giving His children gifts and blessings. And I think it applies to all areas of our lives. Whether relationship, jobs, ministry. We can’t assume our own Human expectations are always better than God’s ultimate provision.

“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” - Matthew 7:11

In His love,
